need advice on buying a truck

i need one with good comfort and gas mileage as i will be using it to travel in mostly. hoping to find a good used one a year or two old. also need a crew cab. towing capacity not a concern as it will only be subject to light duty around the farm. but do need at least a 6 foot bed in case i want to take the 4 wheeler somewhere. so i guess i need something economical, practical, comfortable. dependable, reliable that can be used as a family vechicle as well as a work truck all in one. damn, do they make such a thing?

Tough to find a economical truck in a crew cab with a big bed.Most have shortened beds to accomodate the back seats.Big bed and crew cab=big truck.

Tacoma extra cab may be a compromise.

i hear those toyota trucks will run forever. but you are right it's gonna be tough to find a comfortable passenger area along with a decent size bed as well in a compact truck.

Get a toyota extra-cab. I have a 94 standard bed with 120k. I bought it used about 5 years ago and have had no problems. Even with my standard bed, the bed with tailgate down has to be over 6 ft.
